| Our Mission & About Us When growing up in the United States in the fifties Israel was a point of pride for Jews worldwide. After independence, it fought the Arab nations to secure its existence. Looking for role models, there was the Jewish state and the Israelis. Throughout the sixties and seventies Israel continued to be a point of pride for many Jews. It fought several wars against the Arabs whose forces outnumbered those of the Jewish state and won each confrontation. Regardless of the odds, the Jewish state prevailed, providing Jews worldwide with role models More than warriors, Israelis had built farms where there had been deserts. Where once there was nothing, there was plenty. The Jewish state had industry while their neighbors suffered poverty. They offered their citizens education and health care while most Arab states offered their citizens nothing. In the second half of the twentieth century, when a Jew felt overwhelmed, he or she could find strength in thinking about Israel and its many heroes. Sixty years have gone by since the founding of the Jewish state. Its accomplishments are no longer new and exciting. So, now the question for Jews is, whom do we and our children look to find our heroes? Historically, the strength of the Jewish people could be found in their community. They could travel in Europe in the middle ages and find a Jewish community in which to rest, secure nourishment and comfort. We believe that in the twenty first century Jews can find this comfort and emotional nourishment on the Internet. We have formed Jewish Pride Sports Heroes, LLC to offer Jewish people throughout the world a place to reconnect with their sports and other heroes - a place where they can reconnect with their community. JPSH will maintain an unparalleled library of 20th century Jewish sports footage, and will compile and produce a series of exciting, entertaining, and historically significant products celebrating a proud Jewish cultural heritage of popular excellence and personal achievement in sports. It will offer short films on its Internet site and full-length features via other media, such as DVDs and television. JPSH will build a website, the purpose which is to create an online community. The site will offer Forums to explore sports heroes, a free Dating section for Jews with like interests to meet one another, a Jewish Sports Hall of Fame to tell the story of the Jewish stars, a Classified section to offer one another Jewish treasures, a Chat feature to encourage direct dialog between visitors, Blogs to offer varying perspectives on current events. Revenue sources for the website will include Sponsorships, Advertising, an Online Marketplace, Classifieds and Sales of the Legacy series DVDs. Our entire emphasis in this business model is to enable Jews worldwide to recognize a deserved prominence of place and achievement among the elite athletes of modern history. The Legacy series is a valuable historical record, greatly enhanced by its composition of rare and exciting action footage. Fascinating in the history it documents, it is also exceptionally entertaining for all sports fans. |
